2017 Favourites

My favourite lesson ofย 2017ย is to “never say never“.

I used to have a funny concept about travelling: since the whole world is so huge, with so many places and cultures to visit, we do not have enough time to visit all of them, and therefore, I would never visit any city twice. Makes absolute sense, doesn’t it? Even with my all-time-favourite city (which I now realise I have outdated myself), I always reply to friends, “yes, I lurrrrrrve Melbourne. I will definitely go back to visit, but I still have not been to xx, yy, zz countries yet.” Even with Spain, there are so many cities there, I will probably not go to Madrid again until I have visited other provinces, and probably stop by Barcelona only because that’s a good transit point flying in from Singapore.

But in 2017, I broke that “rule” twice. ๐Ÿ˜€ Spent a month in Paris, although I spent a week there and a week in Bourgogne three years ago. Three-years is too short a period for me to come up with any flimsy excuses or re-definition of that concept. And just a couple of months later, I spent three weeks in the Bay Area, when I had stayed two weeks there four years ago. ๐Ÿ˜€ So yes, in life, stay flexible, especially in welcoming, receiving, and embracing the great wonderful gifts of where Universe takes you. Or what Universe showers upon you.

I have the same rule, there are so many places to see! It takes a special place (or friends) to get me to visit the same place twice. Looks like you had a beautiful year!
