I may not be religious, but I pray everyday. My strategy is to pray for the guidance and wisdom every moment to live to my highest potential, and that I correctly understand the wisdom and execute the guidance in a timely manner, with ease and grace. #lifehack
Today’s deck is a long-forgotten one sitting somewhere in some hidden folder on my mobile phone. This is Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom by Christiane Northrup, M.D. who is an OB/GYN for 25 years. Again, I got it for the weirdest reason – I wanted to own a deck that is created not by a mystic (at that point, I still saw this whole spiritual thing as airy-fairy and woo-woo) but someone grounded in the earthly realm with full-fledged professional credentials. I.e. someone I can trust, with “proper” knowledge, brains, skills, training, (add any other material judgements here) et cetera. I wanted to also see it from the perspective of someone with a structured methodical mindset and academic background and medical training.
Hah! It was too sophisticated for me, so I forgot all about it after a while. The structure is in five suits / key life areas one must master to enjoy optimal health, joy and freedom. They are:
- Fertility & Creativity
- Nurturance / Self-Care
- Enlightened Heart & Mind
Each life area is further subdivided into ten individual aspects or developmental steps, which are the same applied throughout all 5 suits, but expressed differently.
- Imagine / Allow
- Flexibility Within Structure
- Hierarchy vs Partnership
- Perfection vs Imperfection
- Risk vs Safety
- Active vs Passive
- Channel Clearly
- Complete and Move On
Now you see why I don’t use this deck much. 😀 BUT, there must be a reason for its reappearance. In fact, it is very timely, as I am exploring the role of the human body as a portal for spiritual growth / ascension at the moment. I am still trying to grasp the concept, so I will not be writing anything about this until I have it sufficiently figured out.
I find this to be a very encouraging card today.
All of our creations come through us from a Source that is greater than our ego selves. And each of them also bears the unmistakable mark of our own personality. No one can create what you’ve come here to create. Have faith that you are exactly the right vessel for the creation that only you can birth.
Becoming a midwife for creation requires faith, self-trust and self-esteem. Our creations come through us freely, easily and abundantly only when we release our need for control and allow ourselves to become clear channels for something bigger than us.
Image Note: You need to have one foot on earth and one ear to heaven to be an effective creative channel.
This is the first time I quoted every word on a card in my writing. 😀
I used to hold myself back ALOT, be it in my writing, in my day-to-day conversations, even in my paintings / drawings. The world is a mirror, and how we behave or respond to external stimuli is a huge reflection of our inner world, of our shadows. As I let go of judgement (of the world, of myself), I concurrently let go of my fear of judgement, and that was how the channel starts to get cleared. I start being able to delineate between the real and the projections. I start to be able to identify between my issues and others’ issues being projected on me. Or my issues projected on others. It is a very important line to find and resolve / dissolve in order to expand our hearts and our consciousness.
As of yesterday, I am now on the path to understand the Me and the You – what are my emotions / desires / wants, and what are external projections onto Me. The fine line between Empowerment and Control; between Allowing and Manipulation; between Lovingly Compassionate and Truthful in my Power. I was throwing so many questions, and have surprisingly been receiving many answers that change my perspective of how I understood them (in definition and in action). This exercise is seriously drawing out many social / familial constructs / belief systems that do not actually hold water when we place them in the context of Universal Love.
To examine them in this manner also infer upcoming upheavals to my life. Pretty daunting, but Yes Universe! I aspire to live to my highest potential, and I will embrace all the waves of changes flowing for my highest good. ❤ Bring it on.
Universe dropped this article shortly after I clicked Publish – this time, Thich Nhat Hanh.
