Creatures

My favourite creatures are the giraffes. For some reason I cannot remember, I have always called them tall blondes. They stand so tall and trot so elegantly, like supermodels on high heels, with naturally long and curly eyelashes, and such tender loving looks in their eyes. Just look at the way they nibble on leaves, how dainty can these animals be? However awkward they look when they bend over to drink water, they still exude that air of elegance. Look at the way they sit, dear me oh dear me, such regality.

Giraffes
Chasing each other home at the close of the day

Do you know that giraffes hum? At 92 hertz in frequency. 🙂 Imagine them humming this song.

Sing your way home at the close of the day.
Sing your way home; drive the shadows away.
Smile every mile, for wherever you roam.
It will brighten your road, it will lighten your load.
If you sing your way home.

Yup, I painted both. The portrait is incomplete though, and still a pretty long way to go.

  1. It may be incomplete according to you, but I see it as them walking just after dusk and enjoying the serene evening. It’s beautiful as is. Very nice!

      Thank you!
It is actually the one with the blue skies that are not done yet. I only got the shapes out, but had not gotten into drawing the hairs and shadows and all. 😀 So they actually look cartoon at this point.

  3. Wow, I have always wanted to pick up painting! It would take a lot of practice for me to be acceptable though (can’t draw more than a stick figure ha!)

Van Gogh started painting at age 27! Self-taught! Never to late to pick it up. 🙂
