Sis remarked today how these two peeps have such dramatic reunion everyday. ๐Ÿ˜€

Dad cycles everywhere, as did Dad’s dad when we still lived in the sleepy village Singapore was. Oliver now rides to school too, which is a couple of blocks away. It started with him riding as a baby on a child seat on dad’s bike. We call him O’s dedicated uber driver, and he has a few different bikes for O to choose from. Then O started scooting himself to school and to the playground, and now the different baby vehicles accumulate for his daily commute. But, heย is still our babyboo – even with a few different-purpose bikes to choose from, there are days he still asks to sit in the stroller.

It is nice to see them walking home together as well. Sometimes it is friendly chatter about all sorts of things (I don’t even know if they understand what each other is talking about), some days it is a squabbling match over nothing at all.

My aunt (dad’s youngest sis) commented about how caring and understanding my dad was to them when she was young. ๐Ÿ˜€ I am seeing that family identicalย love permeate across generations and across different kinships. It is no wonder everyone comes to our place to seek solace or advice, from when I was a child; and now people still do, and people come to us (my generation) too. This is what a loving extended family looks like! We are happy to help, and we are equally open to asking for help.

Blood is thicker than water? Not exactly, I think it is a matter of instilling the ‘right’ values, and fostering an open heart bigger than our tiny selves.

My soul journey seemed to entail quite some lessons with regards to Big Families. It also seems like I am comfortable enough to write about these now, so you will be reading more about it! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€
