The invisible-ness of seasons on the equator! It is the vernal equinox today, and I don’t feel any different from every other 364 days of the year – still the hot, humid, storm clouds outdoors, and the dry freezing (figuratively. It’s like 21degrees) indoors. Flowers still bloom, flowers still wilt, flowers still bud.
Thanks to google, I knew! 😀 I am quite impressed how the image on the left was what I saw when I first opened Google Chrome today, and the right image was when I logged into my account. Naturally there are scary thoughts to it (in light of the very recently trending news of FB breach), but at the same time, I am dazzled by the amount of personalisation efforts put in.
I was getting so much kick out of putting up cheery images on our own email signatures, that we are implementing it across the board. Gahahaha. This month’s is narcissism to the max! If you find the painting familiar, it is because it was painted by yours truly. As I didn’t complete the painting, I filled up where it was unfinished – with my birthday. The two Chinese characters read 春分 (chun fen) which means Spring Equinox (literally, the breaking of Spring). There are other little “me me me” details in the original which I have left out in this version. I was very tempted to write something myself for those lines of text, but it would be a little too much, considering the audience receiving my work emails. 😀 Instead, I found this quote about the cherry blossom which this painting mimics. “Mimics” because it is not done, hence I cannot really call it a cherry blossom when it has yet to blossom to that point. To me, it is a cheery blossom. 🙂 I even added sparkles!
Happy day. I want to be as happy as spring everyday.
