Lively song for a sunday

What better way to end an enjoyable Sunday than to share a lovely lively song that is so loveydovey. Here is a song about eloping to the moon!

This is obviously a very dated song from decades ago. The MV starts with MSN messenger! I lurrrrrrvvveeee this music video to bits, not just for the liveliness and bounciness of the song, but also the last part which had many many many dolphins!

The male singer is AShin, lead of the band Mayday; the female singer is Cheer Chen. Sis and her friends are crazy about Mayday and Ashin, and would even fly out to watch his concert and fly back the next day. Haha, and they say Oliver looks like him. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ Gosh, I think O looks wayyyy cuter.

The lyrics to this song is very cute, and starts with cheeky bantering between the two. You can read about it here. The rhythm of the chorus is very catchy – 1,2,3, hold hands; 4,5,6, raise heads; 7,8,9, let us elope to the moon! Let our feet rise into the air; let us experience that worry-free vacuum, and let us be touched by the moonlit innocence.

Amazingly, within the clean catchiness, there is quite some depth to the lyrics. Somewhat serendipitous, somewhat wistful about life on earth, and pretty poetic description about the desire to escape to the moon / universe / other planets. The catchy rhythm eventually overrides everything, and makes me really happydappy singing this at karaoke (or in my room, or in my head).

Seems like we can’t view the official MV directly because of some playback restrictions. So, here’s the concert version for easier access!
