Wat lines

Here are the pics for today! A very beautiful part of the Khmer empire – the mini wats within the many layers of the notable Angkor Wat – the temple complex probably wayyyyyyy bigger than its city.

This trip weighed a little heavy on me, manoeuvring through this entire complex in 3 days. Not just the walking, the sun, the cycling, but also the intensity of eschewing so much architecture grandeur within such a short time. It did not help that I had to struggle with the emotional aspect of not giving the little children money, and sometimes even having second thoughts about giving them sweets (social issues / health issues versus I-cant-bear-to-do-this kind of issues). SO. To get myself out of that pattern of dense thoughts and feels, I have put up this collage of pictures more in the form of “wat-the-heck” lines. Enjoy!

      Nice shot, I saw yours!
      I love the texture of the old-ness of the buildings. While the trees are so strong and powerful, and really showcases how nature can triumph over man, anytime.

    We were in Angkor about five years ago. The temples were magic. We spent a few days there and it was a trip of a lifetime for me.

      Yea! There’s something really magical about the place.
      I hope you took the 5day pass~ My 3day pass was too intense cramming so much in.
      After that trip, all my Wat- visits are leisurely and with a good book in hand. Somehow, these temples seem to enhance “reception” for wisdom and knowledge. 😀

      I spent a month in Phnom Penh, and dropped by Siem Reap for a couple of days break to visit the Angkor Wat.
      Phnom Penh carries a lot more pain and felt like there is a cloud of grey looming over the entire city.

      There are many trees like that at each of the little wats. Guess they started small, and just grew infinitely over decades, and then broke through the bricks.
