In good time

You asked to walk a month in my shoes.

“You’ve been there for months! How many more villages to go?” She chuckled, pleased to hear his voice again.

“Beautiful area,” he heaved a sigh, “I saw elephants by the river.”

Pause.

“You know, the sunsets here are really gorgeous.”

Pause again.

“Ahhhh, of course you know,” he let out a quiet grin.

She smiled.

“Hey babe, gotta go.” He winked into the rearview mirror, then kept his phone.

She could hear the roar of his dusty motorbike as the phone lost connection.

7 months, 6 days, 5 hours.
For someone’s quietly keeping time.

      Thank you for the encouragement!
You actually read my mind though, I find it so much easier to rant my thoughts than to write something fiction. 😀
