Oooh, it’s Paris Fashion Week again! By some fluke encounter, I ventured into the heart of Paris Fashion Week last year, dressed in the sloppiest attire ever.

I was based in France for a month for work, and weekdays were pretty much busying between jet lag, work, summer heat, and oxygen deprivation from bad ventilation. Every weekend, I would make it a point to be outdoors and out at a new place, and the easiest and most practical was to explore a new market every weekend to stock up on fresh fruits and breakfasts for the week.

That weekend, we ventured to a market we never really found. Turned out that it really existed, just that it was really tiny, and more of a cooked food market than a fresh food market. There were also stalls along the streets carrying wares where I bought a few leather pouches and bags I absolutely love. I was dressed in the company polo teeshirt I designed and my favourite oversized REI cargo pants which I even tore off (unzipped, realistically speaking) the bottom bits so I could ventilate my hot (summer kind of hot) legs a little. Not the least bit glamorous, but at least I was not carrying bags of vegetables and fruits. ๐Ÿ˜€

So yes, I ended up window-shopping at the haute couture biz world by some weird-ass coincidence, and spent the rest of the day there. I do wonder many times how I get away with such stuffs. Unabashedly, I just walked into all those shops with the top fashion sellers and buyers like I’m part of it. In my drabby clothes. We even put in our orders for a few bags here and there. Oh my oh my, it was funny. They never got back to us.

I got turned away at the exhibition space though, as I did not have a pass. It was not even something money can buy at the door. Owww. Rejection hurts. So I walked around ย the huge exhibition space on the outside trying to catch a glimpse of what fashion trends this spring, while at the same time trying my luck at the different entrances. Multiple rejection hurts repeatedly. Owwwwww.

It was more a fun adventure for me just fooling around life that way. I did not even know it was a big deal, until I saw the video below. hahah. I could well be best friends with this dude! โค

That is cool you were in Paris at the same time as Fashion Week. Funny video. If you had seen it before, you could have had fashion designer cards made to sneak yourself in. And he did it twice — once without a camera (probably to see if he could do it) and once with. Fun essay, I can see you flitting in and out of haute couture stores and the staff shaking their heads after you left.

Yes!! Such a brilliant idea, I wish I had planned it better, with a snazzy designer name card at hand. ๐Ÿ˜€
The staff were very friendly though, that was why I didn’t even notice I was in the middle of it all. For all we know, they might have been thinking, “oooh, finally an un-snobbish designer/buyer/(whatever they thought I was)”. I had alot of interesting chats with the people in the “shops”, maybe it so happened that spring 2017’s trends had alot of oriental elements in them. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€
