Baby bucket list

Oliver suddenly asked me about Shanghai this morning. He wanted to go to Shanghai. What a strange strange strange bucket list to start. Being the meanie ah-yi I am, I asked him why, “you are already a China baby, why would you still want to go to China?” It was our (sis’ and mine) private little joke because he’s born on the Chinese National Day, which makes it really easy to remember.

As of this morning, he suddenly seemed to have entered a delusional world of “I’m going Shanghai where mommy works” (worked?). For a four year old, he’s actually very precise with grammatical tenses, so I guess maybe it has something to do with his mom going to Shanghai in the next week. And he probably thinks she’s bringing him! HAHAHAHAHAHA. Sad that I won’t be around to burst his bubble. 😀

He’s going Japan soon, so it just sounds absolutely bizarre (to me, an adult) to crave China. Ah well, the same as expensive Monet book vs inexpensive play cards. So we switched conversation very quickly to the small hands T-Rex has. And then another quick switch to, “hey, you better learn nihongo (Japanese language), or you won’t be able to find your way back here on your own”. He demonstrated counting from one to ten, but I told him that’s not going to help, so he has to memorise his dad’s number in Japanese. Hahaha!!!! I love terrorising my nephews (will write more about that another time). He knows quite a few random terms too, like hayaku (hurry up), kaiju (monster), da-me (no), and the totoro song (video below)! Haha. Yup, the story of my neighbour Totoro.

Teehee, quenching my thirst for my lovely little nephews, I only get to play with them for half an hour a day, and for just half a week. I can only blog about them by the time I get back home.
