…pingbacks start working again. Hope the Force is stronger today. #may4th hehe
It’s been a long long while!!! Anyway, I will make this the public service announcement. If any genius out there managed to figure, please share with us. ❤
I’d like to help you with this issue. I checked to make sure the posts in question on your site had ping backs enabled just as a first measure.
I am wondering if you have had a chance to check with any of the other blogs who have been pinging you to make sure that they have ping backs notifications enabled?
Here’s a forum post that discussing checking ping back settings:
If you check with some of the bloggers and it’s not a settings issue, please let us know and we will investigate further.
After checking ragtag’s, mine, and then sending the Happiness Engineer(s) a few of ours, the reply came:
After investigating further it appears that your site’s pingback options are set up correctly. Can you let me know if new post pingbacks are working? The error you saw could be related to an intermittent issue. Please note that the pingbacks can’t be resent after failing. These would need to be recreated.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but this is like a non-answer to me. MAYbe the underlying answer is a self-consolation that it is not me stupendously messing up my blog settings which had worked in the past years.
Ah well, in short, I read it as a WordPress machine/system issue whereby the pinging’s not going through smoothly, and if we are unlucky enough to hit the pingball when clicking Publish, it bounces out from the channel and fails. And because “pingbacks can’t be resent after failing”, so that’s it, one strike and we’re out. Unless we have the incredible amount of time and patience to try Again, and Again, and Again, it depends on the amount of luck that we have at the point of clicking Publish.
Let me know if you intermittently win the game!
