Fluffy diet

My diet constraints are turning out to be a whole load of fluff nowadays, more a matter of restraint or a lack thereof.

Happily had a gluten-free crepe for brunch, only to discover that it had (yummy) melted cheese in it and egg as well, both which are top-of-the-range allergens on my list. Honestly, would I have stopped myself from having that even if I had known before I made the order? I doubt so. I have the good fortune of the sweetest pair of eyes watching over my dietary concerns these few days, but my very flimsy double standards seem to still overrule that – as and when the food looks delightfully good. It started with the alternative set of weekend rules, the rational being “I can sleep in anyway“. Today is a Tuesday, which is obviously not the weekend. But there is just something about crepes, and pancakes and maybe croissants, that sway all human principles.

I can now see how people get malnutrition from food intolerances (and people do die from that). One meal like that keeps me full (or rather, bloated) for the rest of the day, which also means that my whole day of nutrition is just that one meal, less the allergens that my body tries to get rid of, and that’s it. If I eat half the crepe, I will still be equally bloated, which also means that I will only have half of that nutrition, yet it also means my body has to work just half as hard to purge out half of these toxins. Hmm.

Alright, I’m now seeing how hazardous it can be, and shall be less fluffy with my diet constraints from now on. It is especially inexcusable now that where I am at has got so many alternative boho choices.

Cheers to a healthier me. heh.

Oh my! Well I have breezed through my life eating everything. But now I am waiting for surgery to remove my gall bladder and I must keep fat ( good fat and bad fat) to a minimum. Well that means no cheese, no pizzas, no ice cream and so on and so forth. I will survive but I have lost about 5 pounds in a month. I think that after the surgery I will have to see how it goes with fat but I will not ever b e able to go back to mhy carefree eating days again. So I have great sympathy with you!

  2. I’ve recently been able to eat former food intolerance foods by healing my digestive system. Hope this helps you too: http://botanicalalchemyandapothecary.com/healing-from-food-intolerances

Thanks for the info! You are right about healing the digestive system. What I really need is a lot more self-control, and self-discipline… I have enzymes and probiotics as well as digestive / liver healing programs but tend to forget about them when I wake up late …

      1. Ha! Well, if the issues get too annoying, then the self-discipline will kick in, right? Sounds like you have it under control for what you need right now :0).
