Weekend forecast

Weekend is here! I forecast a lot of rest and a lot of joy!

The Fitbit is extremely useful. When the invisible is made visible, there is so much more active interventions we can make in our lives. I set a goal of 6.5hours of sleep. Not alot, yet not getting anywhere near it. But on a weekly average, I am doing well, 8hours is highly manageable. ❤ I would wake up, peek at the Fitbit and then estimate how many hours more to hit my goal (hehe, competitive streak) and then head back to sleep, and all will be fine and attained when I wake up. Tangible goals!!!!!!! Goals must be SMART – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-based. Time-based – I intend to raise the bar to 7.5hours when I have comfortably met the 6.5hours goal (now, still brink-ing only 6.0hours if I exclude the weekend slumbers).

The joy is waking up late to the sound of funny children. Yay, they came over today, and they came pretty late, which gave me the best of both worlds. We celebrated Mom’s birthday last night, and Oli basically went crazy with the cake (sugar high). He ate Dad’s share, and then almost took mine, but his mom saw him with the macaron and he quickly and sheepishly returned to me, “no, ah-yi, it’s too sweet”. Hehehe.

He sang the birthday song to ah-ma (my mom) in English and in Mandarin too. Then sang half a Chinese New Year song before his cheeks turned into red blushes. AND … he blew out the candle before my Mom could. So we lit it again and then sang again, and Mom blew it out before he did…. AND .. he almost cried. But before he did, we asked him whose birthday it was, and he just kept quiet, and then sheepishly laughed it off.

Hey, we both wrote about Fitbits and birthdays for this word prompt! How weird is that? (Happy Chinese New Year!)

Wow, we are both pretty far off from the actual word prompt!! 😀 And you share the same birthday as my favourite person in this world! hahahah. Yar, it’s pretty weird!
Xin Nian Kuai Le (means Happy New Year)! I almost wrote about Chinese pineapple tarts too (not egg tarts though).

The same birthday as your favorite person in the world? Then it’s Mozart, right? I knew it!

I love pineapple tarts, but the only ones I’ve had – and made – are the Philippines version. Do you know if the Chinese ones are similar?

Kung Hei Fat Choi!! (That’s the one you hear around here most often.)

    🙂
